23 April 2012
Hello Family,
WRITE ME PLEASE!!!  I`m dying to hear from you all.  I`m in the Borgoña with Hna Silva, she was my Latina companion in the CCM in Guatemala!
Love, Mb

Hey Family
here are two pictures of Claudia and Enrique.  They are great.  I`m still praying for them!  They talked to us about saying no to coffee and cigarrettes at work before I left.  Enrique always asked people when they are going to get baptized.  I know they`re going to help the missionaries in Masatepe with references!  and noww........
I`m in La Borgoña!!!! Wow!  It's about 30 minutes away from Masatepe.  It`s kind of a suburb of Managua.  We live by the highway.  It`s not as city-y like Masatepe.  The houses are more humble.  There are mountains and it`s breathtakingly beautiful.  It`s also somewhat fresco!  yay!  My emotions are definitely connected with the heat, so I am very grateful to be able to in a cool area.  Part of our area is far away, we searched for an investigator in El Eden for four hours last Thursday.  haha. We eat lunch at a fritanga, a restaurant. Carne asada, tajadas, ensalada,  We eat dinner with the family Narvaez and they are super pilas!  They have helped us go to Eden everyday because they say that it`s really dangerous.  I don`t know if it`s really that dangerous, but they help us.
I am here with Hna Silva. She is from Guatemala.  My thrid compañera Guatemalteca! WE were interchange companions in the MTC in Guatemala.  So we ate together and we slept in the same dormitory.  She`s great.  Every companion is more and more like me. She`s very happy and easy to get along with. She`s also very obedient!  We are reopening the area.  There were two elders in the area before and now there are hermanas!  The elders left us with lots of investigators!  It`s kind of fun to reopen because neither of us know anything.  We live in front of the church.  It`s a branch that has been around for about a year and a half.  We talked to the president of the rama for about 2 hours yesterday.  He served in Guatemala North.  Hopefully we can work a lot with him and with the members.
I am trying to get used to La Borgoña and Hna Silva and everything.  It`s hard to leave behind an area.  It was really painful to say goodbye to the people in Masatepe.  I love them so much.  When I was saying good bye to Claudia and Enrique, Rodrigo was going to say the closing prayer but he didn`t want to because he said that he was embarrassed (tenia pena) because he was crying.  So Enrique prayed and it was so beautiful!   Junior said thanks for teaching my family the gospel.   It was really hard to say goodbye, and it`s a little hard still.  but, I am glad to be in the Borgoña.  It`s very different from Masatepe.  It`s montainous and most of the streets are dirt.  There aren`t any pharmacies or grocery stores or markets.
It`s super beautiful here.  There are a ton of pineapple! Fields of pineapple!  yum!  Mom, I got the package!  thanks.  I liked the stickers, loved the m and ms and the anti bacterial stuff.  I would like some bandaids.  I got the picture letter with pictures of when you were in New York.
The investigator that we are visiting that lives a little far away, in El Edén is named Rafael.  He is about 70 years old and is a nice guy.  He is living with a member of the church and isn`t sure if he wants to get married.  He came to church this Sunday all by himself.  We just had to call him and he said he was going to show up, and he did.  Early!  He had a baptismal date for this saturday, and we`re going to see what happens. I have faith.

So, thanks for the letters mom.  We just get letters once or twice every month and everyone is always surprised by how many i have.
So I`ve been thinking about the call for Mother`s day, and I`m thinking that I might just want to talk to you two.  I`m a little homesick and I want to be able to talk a little more than I was able to at Christmas time.  I`m going to send my pictures again because I`m afraid they won`t go through.
The other two pictures are me and hna silva and me, hna zapeta, and presidente mercado.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and I think about the white witch from Narnia because I feel so large and white.  But, it`s okay.  I`ll get back to America and feel tan.

I love you all a lot, a lot.  Thanks for everything.  For my birthday it would be nice to have a brown or dark skirt that isn`t very full.  It`s kind of windy.
Love, love, love Marybeth
