5 Marzo 2012
Dear Family,
Thanks for all the letters and pictures.  I really enjoyed reading and looking at all of them.
First of all, I got your packages, Mom.  THANK YOU!   I loved the stuff you sent.  The stickers are really fun.  I love stickers.  The chocolate is great :) and I like the pencil sharpeners and stationary.  Thanks a lot. I really liked getting the packages.
President Monestel told me to have more faith.  baaaaaaahhhh.  I was about to write about how hard it is for me to have faith.  I guess I should write,  Wow!  I´m going to have so much faith.  And my companions and God and my leaders will help me develop more faith. And my faith will help me and help me to help others find peace and happiness and forgiveness in Christ. And it´s going to be great!  That actually made me feel better.  yay!  Faith!  But yeah.  He said if you grow your faith, God will bless you.
It´s been a funny week.  We have had some funny lessons.  We found Oscar again.  He´s gone to church a ton but we have hardly taught him anything. He talked to us about wanting to be a good joven (young man) and stop doing all the bad stuff that he does.  Jamilet was like, what have you done?  Killed somebody?  So Hna Zapeta asked him what things he has done.  He told us what he had done the night before.  And he told it a really funny but super sincere way.  He really feels bad.  The night before there was a picado (drunk) asleep in the street.  And Oscar searched his pockets and robbed him.  He probably only had like 50 cordobas on him, which is about 2 dollars.  He really wants to change.  He´s a cool kid.
Piano classes are going well.  We had two investigators come and I think they enjoyed it. Milton and Esau and Hna Zapeta are learning fast.
Pedro and Teresa still haven´t gone to church.  They finally accepted a baptismal date.  She hadn´t accepted one before becuase she said that she wouldn´t feel right getting baptized without being married.  Let´s get you married then.  It´s so funny when we talk to couples about getting married because it´s like they don´t want to admit that they love each other.  One says, well, I want to get married , but I don´t know what s/he thinks.  So we ask.  Well, do you love her?  And it´s just really awesome.  The truth comes out.  haha. We had to do the baptismal challenge like 3 times for Pedro.
I love Masatepe!  I love the people here!  I think it´s time for me to move on.  But today we find out what the transfers are..... who knows?
We´ve been teaching Isabel.  Shes super super super shy.  We teach her with one of her friends that is a member, Angla.  Angela is 16 and she´s super shy too.  I´ve been trying to be her friend for four months and I think I finally got there.  Anyone, Isabel has opened up a lot and it answering a lot more questions.  When we leave committments, we commit them both.  Isabel was reading the lesson 1 pamphlet before we even left!  She was reading the Joseph Smith Sacred Grove story.  Cool!
Ivania (this is a different Ivania) went to church this Sunday. She really liked it.  She said, so I´m going to be going to the Principle of the Gospel class for the next year.  Yes. yes you are!  Her husband, Luis, has never gone to a church.  He wants to learn more.  The hard thing is that they work in Jinotepe and come home late.  Also, he has a contract to play basketball every Sunday morning.  He can earn 300 cordobas for playing, and that´s a good chunk of money here.  It´s about 13 dollars. We talked about them getting married and baptized.  We taught them about prophets and Joseph Smith and their homework is to pray.  They are a nice couple.  She really wants to learn.
Abel and Marcela are probably my favorites.  They are so fun!  They aren´t married and have had some problems but Marcela always says she doesn´t care about Abel.  and sometimes Abel says that too, but it´s totally a lie.  They care about each other, they just need some forgiveness and repentence. They need the gospel.  we are going to have a noche de hogar with them tonight and we´re going to talk about faith and repentence.  Marcela told us that she doesn´t feel good about going to church becuase she feels so guilty for things she has done.  They are a really fun couple and they have an adorable little girl, Leiny.  She´s ridiculously cute!
I feel like Hna Zapeta and I are always trying to get couples to show and say that they love each other.  We´ve started a habit of chanting beso! beso! beso! with Abel and Marcela. It´s especially funny when Marcela is mad at Abel for something.  bahahaha.
Well, family.  Ya me voy para Rivas.  haha.  Rivas is super far away and we´ve been joking around for the past 3 weeks that I have changes and I´m going to Rivas.  Then I tell Hna. Zapeta that she´s going.  Ya se va para Rivas.  And then we say ya nos vamos para Rivas.  But it´s all a joke.  I still don´t know where I am going.  But a donde me manda iré.  Okay.  Thanks for the letters all!  Thanks for the pictures.  You are all looking good.  David is cute.  It´s nice to see yall.
With mucho amor, cariño y FAITH!
Hna Tew
